Roosevelt Elk Bull Atlas

Image
I gave Atlas his name because his antlers are the widest and he seems to be the largest and most alert of the herd. I just noticed, too, his antlers have bilateral secondary points on them. He appears to be "the one most likely watching".

Roosevelt Elk Brownie Bull

Male Elk are called Bulls. Brownie has a distinctive dark brown coat, at least in the May 20th photos. I've yet to figure out which one he is in the April pics.

Roosevelt Elk at Jackson-Frazier Wetlands

Twice I have captured pictures of the small, seven member strong, Roosevelt Elk at Jackson-Frazier Wetlands in the early evening this May 2023.  The first encounter was April 12th, note brighter setting. The second was May 20, note cloudy day and darker. I'll attempt to identify each by antler or coloring.
